Document (1)The Wolfe Nature Center is located in Anderson Conservation Center, 1 mile off US 34, just east of Red Oak. This county owned 200 acre wildlife refuge includes a lake, a prairie restoration area, and a great nature center with displays of pants and animals specific to Iowa. Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Court of Honor
With more than 1,000 flags dedicated to local veterans, Memorial Day ceremonies at Evergreen Cemetery are truly a sight to behold. The Court of Honor is a local organization dedicated to honoring veterans and their memories. Each Memorial Day, weather permitting, volunteers raise the 1,000+ flags in Evergreen Cemetery in honor of our nation's veterans. Located at the Evergreen Cemetery on 8th Street.

A challenging Par 72, 18-hole championship golf course that is one of the most challenging and picturesque in Western Iowa. The course is 6,176 yards from championship tees and the design includes water hazards, sand traps, dog legs, waste bunkers, blind shots to the greens, uphill, downhill lies, and many established trees. The club also features a driving range, tennis courts, a swimming pool, lounge, and a full-service restaurant. Red Oak Country Club is located at 2038 200th Street. The Montgomery County Fair provides a week long collection of events sure to please every member of the family, from traditional county fair livestock shoes, to carnival rides, bull riding and the popular, local driver, demolition derby. The Baird Family Christmas lights shine from mid-December through New Years. The Baird family decorates any fence line or building that is visible from the road and are well worth the short drive north of Red Oak. They are located at 1233 E Avenue, north of Red Oak. Eleven city parks make for plenty of green and recreational space in Red Oak. Among amenities available at Red Oak parks is an abundance of tennis courts, playgrounds, a ball complex, a skate park complete with ramps for perfecting skills and a public swimming pool. The park is located on Broadway / Highway 48.
